"The Texas Safari is a great place to get close to nature, while getting closer with family and friends. It's a beautiful little exotic animal park, complete with a camel named Marsha! The building my friend got married in was among several buildings modeled after an old western town. The saloon building is set right next to an adorable little pond. FAMILY RETREAT

 

"20 of us (5 families) got together for a weekend family retreat. Everyone enjoyed the animals, fishing, and dancing and playing at Western Town. Owners and manager were very accommodating to us and helped with all our needs. Wonderful food at a very German restaurant in the area and enjoyed the local winery and golfing. The grand kids had a very unique experience seeing all the animals and actually feeding the friendly camel."  ~ David

"Awesome stay!  We stayed in the log cabin and it was so beautiful. The cabin had gorgeous views and very comfortable.  The deck was the place to be every evening!  It overlooks the large stream and fantastic view.  We enjoyed a glass of wine as we talked about each day. Seeing all of the exotic animals was a big bonus! I  would say get out of the big cities and it will calm your soul!  Bring your yoga mats and bicycles!"  ~ Happy

 

 

WARM AND WELCOMING

 

"Our family was looking for a place away from the big city to unwind after Christmas. We wanted somewhere quiet where we could get "unplugged" yet still have things to do. The Texas Safari surpassed everything we could have hoped for!

 

We rented the beautifully furnished log cabin and it had every amenity you could want for in a luxury rental. The beds were super comfy, there are TV's in all 3 bedrooms and all the furnishings kept with the theme of a rustic (but luxurious!) log cabin. Every night we would make a fire in the fire place and in the fire pit on the large outdoor deck. There's a gas grill on the deck that we would cook steaks burgers on. The cabin is secluded, yet it's a short 5 minute drive to a supermarket and some excellent restaurants. We had a 1,000 acre safari wonderland outside our back door.

 

Texas Safari used to be a drive through attraction where you would drive through and feed the animals from your car.  Now it is a private preserve for the owners and the renters of their houses.  We loved driving through the property feeding the animals and looking at the exotic wildlife. As if that's not enough, there is a western town with a huge saloon. We took family photos around the town and played pool, foosball, and air hockey inside. They also host parties and weddings in the saloon.

 

Jack and Nancy are the owners and they were very warm and welcoming. They were there if we needed anything and gave us a wonderful tour of the property and told us about the animals and their breeding programs. We can't wait to come back for another visit to Texas Safari!"  ~ Diane

"We had so much fun and Jack was so great at answering questions any time we called !!! He was so informative and helpful we will definitely be coming back!! Luis was great and very helpful giving us all the stuff we needed for our stay. We stayed in the bunk house and the boys raved about being so close to all the animals! The beds were sooo comfy!!! BACHELOR PARTY GETAWAY!

 

"This is the second time that I have been out to the Texas Safari for a bachelor party. This time I was the best man and knew that this was the perfect getaway destination for my best friend.

 

The place is absolutely gorgeous and it is in a nice secluded area where all of us guys were able to relax, play sports, fish, swim, hike, and chill. The host was extremely accommodating and always was quick to reply via email or phone on any questions I had. Louis was amazing and quickly brought us a new propane tank, more fishing poles, and showed us around the place.

 

If I am the best man for any other weddings, I will again plan for this place to be our weekend of paradise."  ~ Benjamin

"Texas Safari in Clifton, Texas is a fabulous place to gather for business, events or a personal stay. Our company gathered for a weekend retreat for our annual Strategic Planning Meeting and this was an incredible environment to have it. We soaked up the sights and sounds of the animals and really enjoyed the magnificent views all around us in the Texas Hill country. We are all looking forward  to our next annual meeting again at this fantastic resort and retreat center."
